Maxell HS-4/170S is a Digital Audio Tape 72(DAT 72) format tape cartridge. It has a tape length of 170 meters which enables a native data storage capacity of 36GB that can be expanded up to 72GB when compressed. It features the use of high-coercivity ceramic armor metal particles which provide stability and greatly reduce the error rate. This tape cartridge employs an aramid base film which allows for stable data recording and playback, suitable for long term storage and archiving. The Maxell HS-4/170S tape cartridge has a compressed data transfer rate of 6MB/s.
