| Sony SDX5-400C AIT-5 is an Advanced Intelligent Tape 5 (AIT-5) format tape cartridge. It has a tape length of 246 meters which enables a native data storage capacity of 400GB that can be expanded up to 1040GB when compressed. It features the use of Advance Metal Evaporated 3(AME-3) technology in which a pure metal magnetic layer is deposited directly on the base film without adhesives or binder and the tape surface is protected by a hard carbon layer made of Sony’s Diamond like Carbon film. This minimizes the magnetic particles and further high packing is made possible resulting in high output and low noise which lead to the maximum performance of the GMR (Giant Magnetic Resistance) head newly introduced into AIT-5 drives. Sony SDX5-400C also features Remote Memory-In-Cassette (R-MIC) incorporated into the cartridge which enables quick access. |
