Sony SDX1-35C AIT-1 also called an Advanced Intelligent Tape (AIT1) format tape cartridge. It comes in a tape length of 230 meters which enables a native data storage capacity of 35GB that can be expanded up to 91GB when compressed. It features the use of AME (Advance Metal Evaporated) technology which allows maximum recording performance combined with Sony's DLC(Diamond-Like Carbon) layer that is 20 times harder than oxide, and so smooth that head wear and cleaning requirements are minimized, enabling a 30 year archival life. It also features R-MIC(Remote Memory in Cassette) technology which stores directory information so that it can go right to the data you need. Other formats have to search for your file, wasting valuable time and needless wear. The use of Helical Scan Technology enables the Sony SDX1-35C to sustain a 4MB/s native data transfer rate. The Sony SDX1-35C is available in sealed clear, transparent plastic casing which helps in averting dust and static accumulation.
