| Exabyte’s 312629 is an 8mm Mammoth format tape cartridge. It has a tape length of 170 meters which enables a native data storage capacity of 20GB that can be expanded up to 40GB when compressed. It features the use of Advanced Metal Evaporated (AME) technology which offers expanded recording capacity and low abrasiveness, reducing mechanical wear. The vertically aligned AME magnetic material and absence of binder components on the media enable a higher capacity and superior signal strength. AME's specially formulated back coating dramatically reduces the build-up of static electricity and debris, greatly reducing the chance of read/write errors. The Exabyte 312629 comes sealed in a transparent plastic casing which helps prevent dust and static accumulation. |
