| Exabyte's 00558 is an 8mm Mammoth format tape cartridge. It has a tape length of 225 meters which enables a native data storage capacity of 60GB that can be expanded up to 150GB when compressed. It features the use of Advanced Metal Evaporated (AME) technology which offers expanded recording capacity and low abrasiveness, reducing mechanical wear. The vertically aligned AME magnetic material and absence of binder components on the media enable a higher capacity and superior signal strength. AME's specially formulated back coating dramatically reduces the build-up of static electricity and debris, greatly reducing the chance of read/write errors. The Exabyte 00558 with smart clean automatically cleans tape periodically giving it an edge over all other tape products. |
